Japanese knotweed question
I have lived in a rented garden flat for two years. There is a 3m x 2m rectangular patch of Japanese Knotweed at the back of the lawned area of the garden. During the two years that I have lived here, the Jap Knotweed has never spread beyond the rectangular patch
Now that I am moving, I will obviously not be bringing any of the plants which have been planted into the soil of the garden but how safe would it be to bring my potted plants to my new garden? (Only a few of these have spent some time on the general soil - most have spent the entire time on wooden decking, away from the lawn.)
Very grateful for your views,
Pia.

Thus far JK spreads vegetatively rather than by seed, so you should be quite safe as long as roots have not been able to grow into one of your pots. To be extra safe just do not plant for a year those that were on soil, you'll soon know if they were penetrated by roots.
Why risk it unless the plants have a special meaning for you?
