what kind of chemical to delay the flowering of gladiolus?

Dear esteemed Friends,
After cutting flowers of gladiolus, I put them in cold storage with temperature ranging from 2 to 4 Celsius degree.
I think before storing gladiolus in cold places, we should soak them in agents - kind of chemicals to slower its time of blooming.
Please suggest me some name of agents if possible. Thanks so much friends.

Not something I know anything about and I'm personally not keen on using chemicals for this sort of thing.
