I have a lot of these in my garden and they are now looking very tatty and wondered if it would be ok to cut the leaves back to ground level now, it would allow me more space for the spring plants to emerge!
The flowers are too valuable in late Autumn to get rid of them but they do take up a lot of space in the spring/summer border, so will get the shears out as soon as this rain stops - at this rate it will be March!!

Cheers Pansyface, I hoped that would be the answer but wasn't sure if I had to leave the leaves on for a while - like daffs!
They're unkillable in this garden!
Ours also looking a bit tatty, so I will do likewise and give them a haircut. What a relief not to have to spot prune every stem as I usually do.
