Has anyone tried 'winter sowing', its very easy and you'll be surprised at what you can get going with little or no effort at all. I use plastic milk containers and have done so for a few years now, they make fab little 'greenhouses' ! I would certainly suggest that you google ' winter sowing' and give it a try......
On the 15th I sowed Gardeners Delight Toms, (Mr Fothergills) says you can sow in a kitchen window, I bought some of those little brown pots (I think are peat?) and peat disks, you have to soak, been watching them every day, one little shoot peeping up today! My (3) greenhouses are full of overwintering stuff. Usually start seeds off in my south facing bedroom windcill, but have a nosy puppy who sticks her paws on the windowcill, and has already knocked one plant off! Then ths seedlings usually go into the conservatory, then the greenhouse, (when I can make room!)

Forgot about the Lobelia, I do sow that in February, I have a few others that need sowing earlier, they need the cold to break them.
