SW France. We had frosts in October then wet and mild, then recent frosts. It is often colder here than in England in winter. If you click on my name you will find my profile.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Nanny Beach I clicked on you and found you live near Eastbourne. OH's daughter lives there and we have had the flat above hers as a 2nd home for a few years, but we are moving to a cottage in Norfolk in Feb., keeping the French house which is partly owned by my children.

To my knowledge no one variety has a longer storage life than another........the storage life is much more likely to be decided by the storage conditions.

Hello Michael mpc, I see you were a member of the old BBC gardening forum. Some others are here. Hope you like this forum.
Only maincrop spuds will store.

Re varieties that keep, I grew Valour for a few years and they kept right through till the earlies were ready without many sprouting too badly!
Good croppers and large tubers as well!
Only problem they were a terrible taste and watery to boot!
Keeping them really cool appears to be the way to make them keep longer!
Newboy there was a council supported seed and potato day in totterdown a couple of weeks ago
there is a seed swap on 5th March 12-5 at Feed bristol over Stapleton. There *may* be people with spuds there

My great great grandfather was Mayor of Norwich. I never wanted to go to France in the first place (1985) went for 1st OH.(who died)
