    Hi Juju2 and welcome image

Don't worry too much about where you post your queries - we usually find them wherever they are image

I wouldn't worry too much about your garden yet - mine is free-draining sandy loam and it's like a bog at the moment!

When the weather dries up (and it will) you can assess the type of soil you have, and how it drains, and we'll help you work out your options image

The important thing to remember with cold wet soil is to leave it alone and try not to walk on it (especially on the lawn) as it'll compact the soil and make the problems worse.

Now is the time of year to put your feet up, read gardening books, natter on this forum and consider just some of the things you might like to do in the garden image

Thanks for that I will keep off the garden although I have been itching to get stuck in ,I just thought I may not be able to grow much with the soil being so wet . But I will wait and plan, it is not a very big garden but want to encourage the grandchildren to grow some plants and reap the fruits image

Don't worry - we'll get you there image

While you're waiting for spring, some photos of the garden - where the sun and shadows fall at different times of the day etc would be good.

You can post them on here by clicking on the green tree icon on the toolbar, and then we can have a chat with you about them image

Don't worry, juju, we're ALL itching to get out there now and we've all got soggy soil! You won't be able to tell if you have real drainage problems until normal conditions return.
