I am a newbee too but feel so welcomed and I feel part of a very caring and protected family who generously nurture us newbies, especially when an occasional hurtfull remark is made. There are certainly many, many, wise and generous people here.We are truely blessed.I wish I had found it years ago. I have tried other gardening forums but they were another version of Twitter!! I salute the "veterans"...and you all know who you are.
Not a veteran (yet!) but welcome to H and P nonetheless.
Growing from seed is a great way to get loads of plants for v little outlay - I'd echo the others advice to get one of the pop up greenhouses currently on offer (they will be back to full price again by the autumn!). Its also really good fun - I feel really proud of all my seed grown plants - feels like they are my babies.
And come next Feb the forum will be there to answer all your questions along the way (guess who mixed up all her seedlings last year, and needed this lot to work out what was what)
hello gardening is great and I have coped with rented property and house moves by planting things that florish if moved like my Irises I have had for 15 years and 5 moves still going strong whether in the ground or in a huge pot bulbs like to be dug up and sepreated then you get more plants each year also sage can be moved to a new site every 4 to five years veg crops move around too.
my real favorites are in large pots my OH knows to save a whole day when moving the garden pots and butler herbs sink. this year I am concerntrating on veg and greenhouse gardening even carrots can be grown in big pots or you can get round carrots for growing in pots.

Hi to you. Not been on long but I've asked 2 questions and got loads of help!
People on here are often too modest - for instance check out Verdun's garden pics.
Good luck with the name choice.
