Propagating Alpines
Hello,
I am a 14 year old boy and a keen gardener. I have recently started a small collection of Alpine plants one of which is Sempervivum ( a House Leek). I would like to propagate this plant so that I can make a small display with lots in, can anyone tell me how it is propagated?

Hi Max, welcome. I've never done it but I think you'd just have to pull off one of those rosettes, right back to its base, and put it into some gritty compost, water it and see what happens. I know they like the sun but as cuttings it might be too much for them and they'd need a bit of shade. Tell us how you get on.
If someone else tells you something different, believe them. I'm no expert. A bit of a bung it in and see what happens gardener
In the sticks near Peterborough
Exactly the way to do it.
Thanks for the help. I will be trying it!
