HELP.......?
I am being bombarded daily with offers of "special" plants. emails, ads in every gardening mag and even on GW forum page. They are "must have" plants, at "bargain" prices. "not to be missed" offers.
these new "sensational" plants have the most vivid blues, the brightest oranges, the most intense reds.....the pictures cannot lie. There they are. Look painted but, of course, they are not. Why, even a grass I already grow must be a poor clone because the grass offered has much brighter flowers
I do my best....I have bought plants, have some ordered for spring including the "tastiest tomato in the world" , plants en route and others to be delivered soon. My lawn is not as good as I thought because a new grass seed promises the neighbours will be "envious" if I use it. Again, you should see the pictures.
without these new and wonderful plants my garden will be bereft of colour and style and I will have no option but to drape a huge tarpaulin over it.
Hopefully I will be strong and resist. But, can you?

Here's hoping you can stay strong, Verdun: the truth will out - no doubt your existing plant stock will prove worthy in the long run!!
Yes
. Nae money
I am a sucker for exagerated plant claims in adverts. The last lot of fantastic bargain shrubs I bought arrived and were about 1 inch tall. They will be nicely mature when I am around 90.
Certainly I can resist, bit long in the tooth to be easily misled.
Verdun, you need to try these..

although you might need to jump in quick, I have put a complaint in to ebay about fraud, although they don't seem to be bothered about it.
I love the blue and black roses... never got around to buying a plant though...
The sad thing is, some people will be taken in, and may get disheartened and give up before they get chance to find out how wonderful real flowers can be.
My mum always said a little of what you fancy does you good, Verdun.
