Soft fruit

  • I am giving soft fruit a go this year too. The blueberries I have claim to be self fertile but I bought 2 varieties anyways (recommended to get heavier cropping). 'Pink lemonade' sounded too interesting to pass up plus I used Tesco clubcard vouchers.

I also went for a red variety of gooseberry. Love slightly sharp/sour fruit. I also have a couple of plants of nepalese raspberries. Im a sucker for things that are different. I have some woodland strawberries seeds as well to sow when the weather warms up.

  • I doubt I will be tasting it for a while. It was a 2L T&M plant so rather small but only £5 in tesco points and I have got to say to colleagues 'guess what colour the blueberries are on my new blueberry plant'. None have guessed correctly image

The gooseberry is a Hinnonmaki Red. Haven't decided where to plant it yet.
