Hydranger

my lovely plant that usually dies off in winter has not done this year. many of the leaves have turned black/brown as if maybe the damp has got to them and mould maybe. the existing flowers are refusing to die and dry also. I am worried to cut them back as I fear the frost will get inside and kill the plant but I worry it will not survive if I do not. Does anyone know what I should do? I am not much of a gardener I am afraid but I have managed to grow a few lovely plants that I would like to keep.

Leave it alone bluebell. More cold weather is on the way and the old flower heads will die off eventually and you can prune them back to a pair of buds when spring arrives.

  • phew! thank you was really worried but feel re assured by your replie. Thank you x
