Talkback: Choosing shrubs

Great guide but why is there a proliferation of over loud musak slowly infiltrating Gardeners' World both on television and online? It is unnecessary and distracting

To contact the programme makers you need to go via this website http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mw1h

  • Haha I posted in totally the wrong place, it was meant to be under the shrub video!

  • Thank you. I have contacted them before but you never get a response. I think unfortunately it is an all pervasive need to fill up any quiet moments.  The need for music over everything on TV just drives me insane, my mum who spends her life in the garden has pretty much stopped watching it for the same reason. Even on something like Springwatch when they say "listen to...." and then cover it up with rubbish music. You could say it is a pet hate image

  • Haha spot on. Of course on some shows they usually have as many superlatives crammed into a sentence as possible so we know to feel wonder, joy, sadness etc!

I really don't notice the music on GW except at the beginning and the end - I sometimes notice birdsong image
