Should all roses be pruned at the same time?

    Yes you can just do it before the cold weather returns.

    Hi Dave,

    I posted a massive thankyou post the samestay you gave all that advice but. Ow can't see it. So in case you didn't get it....thank you for such a comprehensive clear response. Have cut roses 1 and 2 so far. Will mulch etc tomorrow. Just a quick question, should I cut any hips off or leave them?

    Thank you again. It does look a little scary now but I was brave. Looks like when you take the Christmas tree down and the living room looks huge! Suddenly I can see the border! Will keep you posted. Thanks again Dave.

  • Thanks once again Dave for your advice. I have just ordered five more bare root Roses online. Hopefully one day I'll know more on how to be sucessful in growing them.

    Well a good basic book is The Rose Expert. They're a series of books on gardening basics. Cheap too.

    Is it possible someone could advise the best way to prune this rose?  It has lots of new shoots that are travelling quite high and wide.  

    These are it's flowers.
