Sweet Peas

Please can anyone tell me what those tiny, tiny hair like insects, about a mm in length are all over the flowers of the Sweet Peas?

Have tried to drown them by duncking flowers in a bucket of water before taking them inside but they're tenacious things & were still alive & hanging on!
