Helleborus thibetanus - looks beautiful in the catalogue - has anyone grown it?

No, but I can understand your loving them.

I did see large specimens of this on sale at my favourite Christmas garden centre trip - Intratuin at Aarschot for any Belgian posters.  Absolutely gorgeous but 25€ a pop and even though they were splittable I decided not to risk winter arriving and upsetting them.

My friends, who have a hectare of garden and very deep pockets bought 3!  I can ask how they got on if you like.

lovely Dove, I inherited 2 don't know what they are, 1 deep pink, one whiteish with ponk markings, when I can afford and find a spot I'd like more!

  • They do look lovely. I'm a sucker for Hellebores ....

I saw them in the Broadleigh catalogue which arrived yesterday, but their website says they're out of stock now image

The website does say that they're easier than was at first thought image

Ooh lovely Dove, I'm staying away from Ashwoods at the moment as they will be full of lovely Hellebores at the  moment.

You could take some piccies to post on the fantasy garden, Yvie. I think you are nearest. Just imagine, a grove of  Betula Jacquemontii underplanted with those wonderful double hellebores.

This is the Broadleigh pic and description http://www.broadleigh-bulbs-spring.co.uk/shop/prodshow/HELLEBORUS_THIBETANUS/helltibitanus.html The pic's a bit fuzzy but the pic in the paper catalogue shows pale pink petals with darker pink veining.
