Potentilla fructosia New Dawn

I planted a Potentilla fructosia New Dawn last year which had as expected soft pink flowers.This year it has been very slow to come into flower and as they have emerged thw flowers are pure white.Any idea why?

the same reason as the nice soft orange I had last year is bright yellow this year?
In the sticks near Peterborough
