Talkback: Starting a new vegetable patch

in Talkback
I have a large pile of turves that have been composting down since the summer. I would like to use the resulting loam for raised veg and cut flower beds. What, apart from organic material like compost, should I add to improve fertility?

I always use about 100g per square metre of blood fish and bone., for growing veg. I also add calcified seaweed if it is acidic, to grow cabbage family or onions.
As much organic matter as you can get your hands on and Blood fish and bone as per fidgetbones. My soil is just the acidic side of neutral and is poor for Brassicas with the exception of Kale, however it does grow Onions to die for, large and sweet.
