Rose leaves are curled/wrinkled

Hi Guys, I got this rose plant from a friend and the shoots looks curled/wrinkled. Any idea whether this is an insect problem or nutrient deficiency?

When i got the plant i saw the leaves wrinkled and with a couple of dried branches. I trimmed all the dead parts and removed all the wrinkled leaves until a point there was no leaf anymore. After a week or so new shoots came and the new leaves(in the picture: leaves closer to the base) were clean with no wrinkles. Now the shoots are wrinkled.

Here's another shoot of the same plant :

I live in Malaysia temperature are warm all round the year 25C-35C. I saw a thread with a similar issue but the thread was concluded with the reason it may be due to the cold weather...haha...well thats not the case for me.

Thanks for all the help image

Look carefully for insects that suck sap like aphids. You probably have differing insect pests to us, but that looks like insect damage.
