Bugle (Ajuga Reptans)

Posts

  • My local GC's have a selection of variants and species from other countries but they don't have the british native Bugle (Ajuga Reptans).

It's the unmolested british native Bugle I'm hoping to find and want.

    I think that's a cultivar voyager

  • Thank you Voyagerxp but I may be wrong but I think this one is a cultivar and may be Carpet Bugle, Ajuga Reptans 'Braunherz'

Not the native british species I'm looking for, sorry.

Again a big thank you though for trying.

There are several variants and sub species.

I wonder if more stock might be available in spring

GCs do have wildflowers sometimes but unless they come from a nursery I've heard of I'm not sure if they're reliably native

I tried last year and failed, trying again this year too.

Fingers crossed i'll be successful this year.

I'll buy seed if I have too, if I'd bought seed last year (2015) I'd have flowers next year(2017).

I can find plenty of seed online and I could even collect some wild seed to be absolutely sure of species and origin.

I'd do seeds if it were me.

These don't seem to do a plant listing but might be worth contacting. I've been there, lovely place to visit
