Alstroemeria summer breeze HELP

in Plants
Hi I am a very keen but inexperenced gardener.
I have an Alstroemeria summer breeze with produced some beautiful flowers this year. Its planted in a very large pot and now in the garage to protect it from the winter and getting blower over.
I am very confused what to do once the flowers go. I have tried reading about it on line and some people say to deadhead the flowers and others say to cut it right back to ground level?? What do I do??
Now that its in the garage its now shooting and looks like new flowers are starting to come out.
What do I do?? Any advice would be appricated...
Thanks

I'd leave it outside - now that it's in the protection of the garage it thinks it's summer and time to flower.
I'd put the pot outside in a sheltered corner - put the pot on feet so that it drains freely and wrap the pot with a couple of layers of bubble wrap to protect it from frost damage.
The alstroemeria is pretty tough - it'll be ok outside

Thanks for the replies, a little bit mixed??
What happens if i cut these back?? will it need cut back eventually as will it not grow to big, will this affect the flowering for the flowing bloom
Do I just pull the whole stem out what is flowering??
And the old stems do these flower again or do they die off and new stems appear??
Thanks again
But that's what happens every winter ... they grow again in the spring - at least that's what happens in Norfolk. Probably down in Cornwall they never get cut back ...
What I would do is as soon as they show signs of life in the spring I would re-pot them in fresh compost - probably John Innes No 2 with a handful of grit - and they'll romp away

I leave mine outside in a pot in a slightly sheltered position, I just pull our any stems that are fading when they're ready.
Oh yes I forgot about that. I would gradually harden it off to acclimatise it and follow the above steps, however next year after summer I personally would leave it outside in a sheltered position in my garden, but it's whatever works best for you
