grass cuttings mulch for raspberries
in Fruit & veg
Evening everyone
Ive created a new raspberry bed and at the site where I have the allotment there is a pile of grass cuttings in various stages of rotting down.
Anyone any thoughts as to how grass cuttings would work with raspberries ie would there be too much nitrogen from rotting down for raspberries to thrive or would it be ok to use.
Its freshly dug ground so the weeds will be rife come the warm weather...
thanks in advance

thanks guys
theres also a big pile of woodchips from what I presume was leilandii
would that work any better?
Grass cuttings mixed with woodchips might be good as well. They'll benefit from potash when they get going - wood ash from a bonfire or similar is good, provided it's been kept dry.
