Out of control...

NigRachNigRach Posts: 13

Hi,

I have a number of succulents that I don't know what they are and how to contain them. They are getting out of control and too tall. Inexperienced with plants other than taking a cutting which produced more out of control succulents. image

So A) What is it?. B) How to prune? where to cut etc.

thanks

Sorry it's sideways.

It's a money plant or Crassula Ovata/jade plant.

Have look at the link see if that helps.

    thanks Dave,

Is there any particular way to prune? to give shape to them.
Particularly the big one but also to shape the smaller one.

Give the bigger one a trim, because if they get top heavy they snap off (from my experience). You can use these for more plants if you want. when they are happy, they produce tiny white flowers that look like little stars, very nice.

  • Looks like standing it in a sunnier location would help to keep it bushier.

  • Mine flowers every year but only since I moved it from the main house into the conservatory. I think this is because it needs the shorter days to trigger flowering and we don't use the conservatory in the evening in winter.
