I recently created troughs around my roof terrace above the underground carpark using galvanised troughs 90cm x 45 x 45.

I planted two of the above both of which get morning sun and the rest of the day shaded by a decidious tree. One is fine in one trough but the other seems to be dying. Leaves brown and brittle.

I have an irrigation system and used multipurpose compost above drainage in all troughs.

I am new to gardening and would appreciate any suggestions as I just spent 1000 pounds almost on relatively mature plants to get instant impact.
