You'd be better off buying 2-3 year old shrubs Joyce. Shrubs sold in 9cm pots are last years cuttings and will take another 2 years to really get going and four for £20 is expensive in my opinion. If you go to any decent garden centre  you'll pay that for more established shrubs. Verdun is right pay that little bit more it'll be worth the extra few quid in the long run.

  • Thank you for that advice and as you say a larger shrub would look better can i still buy them this time of year as my last azalea which was really lovely died

  • Thank you verdun you made me smile as ive wanted a trailing rose to go across my bare fence also a spirea and a acer so i will treat myself  as im 80 this year

Hi Joyce.  I don't know if you have a wyevale garden centre near you but all their shrubs are half price and are a really good established size image

you would probably pay five pounds a pot and don't know if you like but all their roses too are included in the sale
