Rudbeckia and Echinacea - sandy soil
I have light sandy soil, and would like to put in some rudbeckia and echinacea (i've always sworn I wouldn't have yellow in my flowerbed, how times change...)
I've read rudbeckia's like soils that don't dry out too much. I've dug in manure a couple of seasons ago and try to top up with mulch when I can to increase moisture levels. My salvia's struggle with mildew I assume due to dry soil...
Can echinacea's cope in dry soil at all?
Any advice ?
Thank you and happy new year
