I put a fork into the lawn, loosen the ground underneath the weed and surrounding turf, remove the weed (which usually comes out easily, all roots intact) then gently press the turf back down. Simple, effective and free!

thats the way to do it and it takes no time at all depending on the size of your lawn.good work stefanib
