Can you post a photo, George? They don't sound like venus fly trap plants to me.
My trap is newly potted,2 weeks ago. I have some black pods is this normal
Stue - black pods means its flowered and set seed, you DO NOT want seeds on a plant unless you want to breed new varieties (which most people leave to the experts) always remove the flowers as soon as you see them otherwise the plant puts all it energy into seeding and can die afterwards, that is if it is a Venus fly trap? any chance of a photo?
George - any chance of a photo as 6 inches is way too big for a Venus fly trap?
Did you buy them from a pound shop ? I nurtured some seeds thinking they were Venus Fly Traps an ended up with similar sounding plant. Think mine turned out to be a Gallant Soldier, its now in the council compost bin.
