Chryanthemums

JIMMMYJIMMMY Posts: 241

Hello.

I have just ordered a collection of 10 various coloured John Wingfield chryth varieties!

My question is how can I grow them not to exhibition standard but for cutting for the house?

I have grown others outdoors uncovered for the house, can I grow these varieties outdoors or do they have to be under cover?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

Grow outdoors then bring them in for the winter.

They will come as rooted cuttings. Pot on into 7 cm pots, then larger pots. As they grow, pinch out the tops at about 15 cm to make them branch. Feed regularly with phostrogen or a tomato fertiliser. You can either pot on into large pots or buckets, or line out in the veg patch, around June. They should start flowering from August onwards.
