Advise on a present just received, a Prunus Incisa

in Talkback
Hi Everyone A friend just have me a Prunus Incisa (kojo no mai) not sure if it's a type of cherry, it's come in a pot Hessian says to water & plant it straight away. I just want to know if it will survive outside in it's pot until next year? Many thanks in advance for any help Paul
