Does anybody know what plant this leaf comes from?

    It's always difficult with a single leaf, so many are a similar shape, no indication of size or type of plant it came from.  A pic of the plant  would help.

    Looking at the plant, I agree - acanthus image

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    looks a bit small if that's standard gravel but I've no better suggestion

    Thanks for the replies, its 20mm gravel not pea shingle, i zoomed in for the picture.

    Yes acanthus they should look like that in spring but many are like that now due to the mild weather.
