That heron is a real beaut, Kathy! He'd scare the bejazus out of the various seagulls, jackdaws & starlings that make up the 'heavy' brigade of my feral bird visitors!! Note your helpful comment re: pig sculpture - for me as a native Tamworthian, it would have to be made of rusty metal to simulate the orange 'furry' colour of that named breed! ? Maybe you'll remember the "Tamworth Two" that escaped from a butchers (& earned a reprieve) before being nearly turned into pork??
The giraffe is lovely Jo never seen a vulture!! can see one of those perched in one of our trees lol.
Thanks David, yes I do remember the "Tamworth Two" ! one of those pigs would be perfect, they will make to order too and are at most of the garden shows each year
Magpies are the bane of my life very funny at times though, we used to have a chocolate lab, you know how greedy they arel, the magpies would bury all the food I put out for the birds, among leaves plants etc then our lab would spend the rest of the day sniffing it all out!, checking whether I was watching first before he stampeded over the garden lol.
How true, Kathy: Labs (any colour!) often have a good 'nose' for certain things, especially contraband food items!! My former boss at a Surrey field centre had to stop taking his black lab on guided walks with students as the 'hound' would cadge mercilessly; crusts, sausages (from breakfast), apples, even orange peel (!). The dog's girth was becoming embarassing as she couldn't pass through the gap in dog-friendly 'dagger board' stiles aroung Box Hill & Headley Heath - and her owner was incapable of lifting her (unaided) to launch the podgy pooch over the top rail!
Hahaha sounds familiar David, we did manage to keep Fudges weight under control no easy task especially as he got older, he had fits which at first were only once or twice a year so the vet didn't want to put him on medication but as he got older they became more frequent so he had to have daily tablets one of the side effects of which was increased appetite!!!, remember taking him for a walk one day and he suddenly took off over a field nothing would make him stop, he was usually quite obedient, eventually caught up with him sitting staring at a couple of builders eating butties drool streaming from his mouth like he'd never been fed in his life!!! how embarassing, he'd also pull the Christmas tree over every year to get the chocolate decorations even though after the first time I never put them on again, he'd sit there head covered in glitter looking so innocent lol.
LOL Fairgirl , the Deer and the Stag were £275 each which I didn't think was to bad the heron should have been £30 but we did a deal as we bought the Stag at the same time .
Brilliant Verdun that might even scare any would be burglars eeeek.
Steal anything if its not nailed down wont they Runny we even had a whole newly planted laurel hedge stolen once!!, must check our insurance but have a feeling we aren't covered for outdoor sheds etc, maybe worth upgrading it
Kathy: It's my belief that labradors & springer spaniels have a special gene where food is concerned - it results in them disgracing their owners at every available opportunity!
