Aeonium with white things and blacks things plus dropping leaves
I live in Alberta Canada which has hot summers and cold winters. I have an aeonium which is in a pot whI have I put outdoors in summer and have brought in this winter. It thrived this summer and now is losing leaves and has black and white things on it. What can I do to it? Is it going into dormancy and if so, does it need watering? Right now it's in a south facing window and receives about 6+ hours of sun/light per day And ourcity receives about 2400 hours of sun a year. Thanks!

Hi Anna, sorry the picture hasn't come up.
Aeonioms do suffer with mealy bug, all plants loose leaves has a natural process but should not loose lots all together. How often are you watering it ?they like to be kept on the dry side and I keep mine in good light but not in full sun.
I water when i put my finger in the soil and feel after about 2-3cm that it's dry. It's in a pot with good drainage too. I tried to get the black/white spots off with a cotton swab and they just showed up again a few days later. Should I spray with anything? Cut it back?
I'm wondering if they're suffering from an attack of Horsechestnut Scale or one of the other scale insects?
