Newbie question
Hi there,
I am new to the forum so hello.
We have just moved to a new home and need a little help identifying a border plant an how to deal it with.

It seems to either have wilted or been trampled or needing of pruning.
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt and welcome
You have acanthus mollis there http://apps.rhs.org.uk/plantselector/plant?plantid=15. It tolerates drought well, but it does look as if it's suffering from the heat/dry conditions. It doesn't usually need much attention other than the cutting off of dead flower stalks.

Hi there Dovefromabove
Thanks a lot for the information, much appreciated.
In your opinion what should i do to help it along? - just water it during this hot spell?
Thanks again
Matt
Just give it a good soak. One big soak once aweek is better than a little every night.
I had this but did`nt particularly like it especially the nasty thorns..pulled them up but still come back
