Storing Dahlia tubers
Hello
This year for the first time I have grown Dahlias from seed and they have been really successful, I lifted cleaned and put the dry tubers into trays and then into the loft where they are cool and dry.I have just checked them and found that most are covered in a white mold, is this detrimental and if so what do I do to to clean it off and stop it reforming,
Would spraying a mixture of Jeyes fluid control the problem, any advice would be appreciated
Thanks.

That's quite natural. I'd try and brush it off then store upside down in dry sand or woodshavings or dry compost. Keeping them as dry a possible is the key to storing them. When I store mine I get mold on the old dry stems but not on the tubers. You may find they're still a bit damp so try keeping them upside down for a few weeks with penty of air circulation, the mould should die off. Check them occasionally for rot as well, you always get a few tubers which rot off and just pull them away.
Thanks for the info Dave I will try that
