Ice cold winters and red hot summers

Hi I am a new member and live in Bulgaria. Are there any other members who live in BG? I am interested in shrubs that will tolerate extreme changes between winter and summer temps.

Hello mazzabul.
Keep checking the forum as no doubt members will have some suggestions for you. I'm currently drinking tea and trying to wake up so no suggestions from me just now.
I live in France. Here it has been down to -17° in winter and up to 35°. My shrubs that have survived without problem are - Forsythia, Weigela, Kolkwitzia, Kerria Japonica, Viburnums, Cotoneasters, Berberis, Deutzia, Philadelphus, Caryopteris, several different Spireas, including Anthony Waterer and Bridal Wreath, Exocorda The Bride, Choisya (sometimes a bit of frost burn, but recovers in summer), Buddleia and Pyracantha. I probably have others, but that is what I can remember.
