Bulbs growing too early?

I have been waiting for a pause in the rain to re-pot my outdoor lilies (Madonna lilies I think) only to find that they are already showing new green growth.  I'm wondering if I can still re-pot them, and should I now put them in the greenhouse in case the  new leaves are killed by frost?  Any tips would be much appreciated.
