Ok so how do you account for this then. My Rhubarb is the Champayne variety. It has gone from stregnth to stregnth. Plenty of red on the stems.. I even made Rhubarb Gin.. Lovely. But now the thick stems are only red at the last 2 inches?? And some of theyounger leaves are showing Red colouration??  Cannot find out why either..
Aby ideas would be great, thankyou.

Red colouration in rhubarb leaves usually indicates that the leaves are either stressed due to adverse growing conditions or that it is preparing to die down for autumn/winter.

Also the pink colouring is usually most evident in the young earlier growth ... later in the season the stems are usually greener.

As as I said earlier I don’t pull stems from July onwards ... the quality is not as good and the plant needs the leaves to build up for the following year.

I grew that type from seeds a few years ago, it is a green one, just a bit of pink on it, all tastes good though.

Can I plant rhubarb in a large tub
Yes in theory. It would need to be a really large tub though - the RHS says the pot would need to be at least 50cm wide and deep. They are greedy plants, so you'd need to feed it well. Look for smaller varieties (i.e. avoid anything with 'mammoth' in the name and I wouldn't attempt 'Victoria' either).

It would be better in the ground though.
