Have I killed my Nerines?

I planted Nerine bowdenii last spring but they got shaded out by plants nearby and to be honest I forgot about them until now. I thought they were dead - no leaves at all- but when I dug them up the bulbs were firm with healthy looking roots. I potted them up in gritty compost and put them in a bright spot. Do you think they may survive? I'm sure I've read they don't like to be moved at the best of times.

If they look healthy they should be OK. Give them a couple of years in the hottest spot you can find and see how they do. Shading out stops them flowering but it won't kill them immediately

  • I have got some that have been shaded out and they have not flowered this year.  They are also very congested.  Anyone know when would be the best time to split and move them?
