Ugly bins
I have a lovely new patio where I have to store 2 ugly wheelie bins. I can't afford these wooden wheelie-storage bins. Anyone got any useful links as to how I could make my own fairly cheaply?

We've got a fence of trellis panels hiding ours.
You could hinge some trellis panels like in this picture. Maybe fix one end to a wall or fence and put a patio clematis in a pot by the fixed end to climb over that end.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I really would like one made of wood, 2 sides and a front (it goes against a wall at the back), the front with 2 opening doors (one for each bin) and with 2 opening lids (one for each bin). I'm a complete novice at woodwork but can usually pull off anything new I try. I need to know what sort of wood (cheap!) and how do I join it together? It wouldn't need a base as it's going on slabs and I don't want to see through it.
Hi Alex Gardengirl is great with making things from old pallets, I'll see if I can find her thread for you to look at
Alex I've moved the thread back up for you to look at PALLETS
I used treated slate laths to make a bin store, screwed together in a trellis, but not putting screws in every cross joint (saving on the amount of screws used) turned out a bit like Dovefromabove's idea.
I hate seeing rubbish bins on the front of houses, I think they should all be covered, and out of view.
Here are lots of ideas have put same thing on pallet thread, I use lots of pallets find them in industrial estates they normally want to get rid of them so just ask if you can have them and they say yes you can have them for free so look around

Those camouflage stickers look good if you haven't much space.
The trouble with the stickers is the cost, with 5 bins to cover, it'll be cheaper with a home made trellis.!! The stickers do get scrubbed off where the bin Larry picks them up.
