Olive green "slime"

I keep getting some olive green "slimey"stuff on my footpath. It has the appearance of egg sacks but can't think what can be depositing it. I have photos if anyone can help,

Yes, its that algae Nostoc Commune. Does anyone know a treatment?
If you click on the RHS link I posted above and scroll down you'll find several methods of control for liverworts, algae etc, including Nostoc.
