When I lived just north of Portsmouth there was a local park that always had 2 or 3 white squirrels. They must have been part of a gene-pool rather than one-offs, but I remember seeing them in and around the park for many years, even in my own garden on a couple of occasions, but sadly never got a good photo like yours. They were quite famous - Chris Packham had heard about them and they got a mention on Springwatch a few years ago!
