Hello, I have just been given an old Azalea in a container. It has not had any TLC for a long time, it needs repotting and the top of the pot is full of grass/weeds.
Is it best to do this now, or to leave it alone until after it has flowered ??
Repotting will do it no harm John - it'll help it. Remove all the weeds etc and give it a nice of pot of fresh compost. Many will say use ericaceous compost, but it will be fine just now in multi purpose. You can then decide what to do with it next year after it's flowered. They're better in the ground, but if your soil isn't neutral to acid, you can keep it potted
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
