Gardenias

Hi, From the attached photo can anyone offer me advice on whether this 'yellowing' is too little or too much water? I have not watered these plants regular, i.e. maybe every two / three weeks just a small amount (about half a mug)  as I understand that they musn't be over-watered.image

Use rainwater if possible. If thats a big outside pot, raise it up  on pot feet, so water drains away, If its an inside pot  I just plunge it into a bowl of water as it is getting dry. Leave to soak for an hour, let it drain, then wait until it is nearly dry again. Try a feed of sequestrene or miracle gro for azaleas and rhododendrons..
