Chicky we have a whole assortment of decorations too (though never went for a theme), same ones every year with the odd new one added by the children or me. Since my parents died I've also inherited some of my favourites from childhood (and most of them had been around for a couple of decades before that!) - the four of us shared them out between us and all managed to bag a favourite or two. I love seeing them every year.

Sorry to hear that the sideways photos don't turn for everyone. I can't do anything about it though - whatever way up I make my original, it appears sideways (but always ok when clicked on). Hope no one gets neck ache!

And thanks re the curtains - a few years old now, but made from quite cheap IKEA fabric. I didn't make them though, deeply unskilled in that department.

Keep meaning to ask Dyers what the balloons are at the top of Alfie's tree - it looks like it is about to float away to the man-in-the-moonimage (.....half the world away ....)

  • Here's mine.  Decorated by my 8 and 10 year olds.  No colour theme - the girls choose 1 new decoration each per year - then the idea is when they are grown and leave home they will take all their decorations to their own home.  The tree is a rooted one in a pot - bought last year when we moved into this house - so it's second year.  we intend to leave it in a pot and bring it in each year until it's grown too big to git through the door!

I love the fact that everyone's tree is a different work of art and they are all so pretty and colourful, just what the doctor ordered at this dull dark time of year.  It's always good to hear that people use all their old decorations over and over again, recycling at it's best.

Chicky, it's just a bunch of baubles all wired together I bought at some point in the past.  We used to have a fairy/angel with a dress made of feathers but she moulted over the years image
