Small is beautiful and can offer life to many creatures

  • The long slope to the level of the garden with lots of plants gives plenty of purchase. We spent a lot of time researching how the pond needed to be built and sought a great deal of advice. We even had a landscape gardener who specialises in wildlife ponds give it the thumbs up. And even if a hedgehog did get through the chain link fence there's a 3 ft drop off the retainer wall into the garden.

My advice to anyone considering such a project is to do your research, get advice if you need it and be content with what you can do to offer a place for wildlife to thrive.

Please  don't take offence but I would class the garden as manicured not a wild life pond and the artificial grass is a definite no no
