Can anyone identify this plant please?

it's about a metre tall and the flowers that are developing are a pinky purple colour, and have no obvious smell. Thank you!

    I think it is Liatris, or Gay Feather.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Looks like Liatris to me Shelley. Spikes of purply mauve, slightly plumper at the top than the bottom (rather than the 'candle' spikes of Veronicas) Bees love it!

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
