@Igrowfromseed - how old are those? I'd like to bulk up our hellebores, but I've never had much luck with seed in pots. The germination rate, for me, was much higher in the ground around the parent plant! What's the secret?

I've gathered seed in the past too, but nothing germinated. They can take a long time. I also had more success with pricking out those little ones that had self seeded in and around the parent plant, but as I said earlier in the thread, I did it earlier this year when they were really tiny, because they were much easier to get out. The roots can get down very quickly in the right conditions. Probably you could take some of those self seeded ones and pot them up. They'll take a little while to make decent sized plants, and they won't necessarily be the same colour as the parent, but worth doing if you want more
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I dug up some seedlingling in early April and put them in these cells. Not tried germinating from seed yet.
The staging gets an automatic watering x4 a day otherwise the small cell trays just dry out. I've been potting on a max of six seedlings per variety otherwise I'll quickly run out of pots and space. Ear marked an area of the veg garden to use as a nursery bed for some of those left over seedlings. That's were those hellebores will be going

Thanks for the additional tips @Lyn and @Fairygirl 👍
