A gift card for his favourite garden centre? RHS membership, if he's interested in visiting other gardens, plus a booking a lunch/dinner at one of the gardens?
Well so far I've got him a B & Q gift card (was going to get him a garden centre one but my mum said to go for the B & Q one), and we're taking my grandparents out for a Sunday dinner at a really nice place that also has a small garden centre .
I have a really strange urge to get him a carnivorous plant, like a venus fly trap or something like that - it would definitely be different but I'm not sure yet about that one.
What a lovely garden. He is clearly a talented man.
You could get him a garden journal and you could ask him to write down his favourite plants and techniques and then he can give this back to you the following year. A friend did this for her grandma with recipes and it's a treasured book now.
I'm a photoholic, couldn't resist - here is the man himself, and my grandma . Via the wizardry of my new phone (I still don't understand most of it, especially the annoying Cortana woman who keeps on coming up to answer questions that I haven't asked), I have managed to get the photo to look like I have drawn it, and it captures him to a tee .
Love them to bits! They also have 16 grandchildren (including me) so they are the matriarch and patriarch
I'd be inclined to include pictures in your gift if you can do something similar to that. Perhaps one of the whole family if you have it?
Does he enjoy feeding the birds? Feeders and food. Something along those lines might be nice - he can watch them from a window.
I think it's clear how much you love them both - that's a priceless gift in itself. He can be very proud that you're putting so much thought into your present.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Lovely photo Denno, it looks like he doing the cossword/ suduko etc....maybe some big books on various types of puzzles/ brainteasers ? My Dad is 90 and enjoys doing them.

Awww, that's lovely Tetley and very true
. This is my grandad's garden several years ago - the palm tree is sadly gone now
Your grandad's garden is a picture
The B&Q voucher is a good idea - he can get plants, tools, compost and all sorts of things from there
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

What a beautiful garden and pictures of your grandparents!
I really like the idea of the garden journal.
