Big Dreams was a good programme wasn't it? I always get more inspiration from seeing gardens more on the scale of my own than rolling acres.

I think the ability to listen to bonkers ideas and not flinch and gently steer people towards a more achievable and pleasing plan which is still very identifiable as their idea and space is the art of both consummate professional and gentleman.

Can't wait for the next series. image

I see that MD is also interested to do a series looking at American gardens and spaces. That would be an excellent subject. Many Americans have a very different attitude to gardening / land management to us Brits and there is a huge range of climate, terrain and fauna to contend with - but there are some truly excellent gardens in the States.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

  • Can't say I've ever noticed either.  Monty can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, and as for the adorable Nigel - I just love him.  The interaction between Monty and Nigel is enough to tell you what a nice man he is. Who cares what he does with his arms, he has a good heart and knows his stuff, which is what I watch GW for in the first place.  Rock on Monty!
