Vine weevil grubs

Hi guys corr it's frosty image I've got some pots with dahlia, begonia and geraniums in if they have grubs in will they travel from pot to pot if I load them into the greenhouse? I should have checked them before the weather came image and now I haven't got any vine weevil stuff to treat them straight away .

Its too cold for nematodes to work now. If you have begonia corms, tip them out and have a look at the compost.

  • I wouldn't move them into the greenhouse, I'd empty the plants from the pots and the compost, thoroughly checking the plants all over. You can dry out the Dahlia tubers and store them that way.

I'd tip all the compost from them out onto paving, or a plastic sheet, and let the birds go through it - they'll snaffle them up image

Then do what NGL and fidget suggest. You can repot anything that requires it in fresh compost, and dry off tubers etc.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
